WELCOME TO

THE SISTERHOOD

Cultivating a sacred community for women to be encouraged and empowered as we navigate life, work, and writing in the Academy.

We see you. We stand with you.

We write alongside you.

And so, lifting as we climb, onward and upward we go, struggling and surviving, and hoping that the buds and blossoms of our desires will burst into glorious fruition ere long.

STRUCTURED WRITING TIME

Gain unlimited access to daily co-writing sessions to support you in developing and sustaining a habit of writing. Group sessions with other Sister-Scholars are led by a Results Coach and are provided throughout the day to ensure you have opportunities for the protected writing time and 'in the moment' troubleshooting you need to move your work forward. We all understand the joys of juggling "all the things" of life and work - Sis, we see you. We stand with you, and we are here to write alongside you.

ONGOING SUPPORT AND ACCOUNTABILITY

Gain access to a virtual community of Sister-Scholars who are unapologetically committed to seeing you win. Our members-only forum and community serves as a 'judgment free' SisterSpace where we come to energize, empower and celebrate each other as we are navigating varying stages of the writing process. Attend our end of month Sister Circle Celebration to connect and reflect on your monthly writing activities, celebrate big and small wins, and get support in strategizing for continued growth.

STRATEGIES FOR WRITING DEVELOPMENT

Writing development is a social, emotional, cultural and political process. Members can participate in our monthly SisterScholar Read-In and Writing Challenge to support holistic writing development. Books selected are specific to practices in dissertation writing, writing for publication, and/or navigating personal and professional life in the Academy. Members receive access to monthly SisterCircle events for discussion and peer review to improve, support and sustain their scholarly writing.

If the first woman God ever made was strong enough to turn the world upside down, these women together ought to be able to turn it right again.

DR. THEORIA M. CASON

UNIVERSITY OF PITTSBURGH

Former doctoral candidate

The support I received from MeetWriteNow played an essential role in the timely completion of my dissertation and successful defense. My individual coaching sessions validated my thinking in moments when I felt overwhelmed by the process; I left each session with more clarity and motivation to continue. The sense of community that was established with my fellow writers was truly empowering!

MARKETA FULLER-PRESIDENT

CLEVELAND STATE UNIVERSITY

Doctoral student

As an African-American, non-traditional, single mother and full-time Ph.D. student it was very difficult to understand the need to carve out consistent writing time. The virtual platform provided by Dr. Hill affords me needed tools and resources to remain motivated to complete the work that is so vital to my personal and career development. Without question, I have found the The Sisterhood to be a very supportive community of writers with similar dynamics and real advice that pushes me through, and helps me make progress on my writing goals!
