In Calls for Proposals
Call for Proposals Thank you for your interest in presenting at the Symposium for Teaching and Learning with Technology! This year’s Symposium will be held virtually on May 11-13, 2021. The Call for Proposals for the 2021 Symposium will open on January 4, 2021. We are offering two webinars to help you write a successful and impactful presentation proposal. These webinars will be offered via Zoom, Wednesday, January 27 from 10 -11 a.m., and Tuesday, February 2 from 10-11 a.m. Bring us your awesome ideas, and we’ll make sure you’re ready to share them with Symposium attendees. The Proposal Rubric is used for scoring and is based upon the long session description (250 words max) in the proposal submission form. Please contact Amy Kuntz (aer13@psu.edu) with questions regarding the proposal submission process or the webinars. Tracks This call welcomes all proposals for a general TLT track, covering a broad range of topics demonstrating the valuable and innovative use of technology to support teaching and learning. Submissions are also being accepted for a World Campus track, offering the latest in Penn State’s innovation in online teaching and learning, as well as a University Libraries track, exploring collaboration, information literacy, and the research process. Focus Areas Focus areas for the 2021 Symposium and include the following: Adapt & Advance Do you want to share the practical applications of your work and lead a discussion for its adaptation outside of your domain? How do you see your work advancing your field, other fields, or the academy? Collaborate & Connect How have you worked outside of your field to form interdisciplinary partnerships? What projects have resulted from these partnerships? Would you like to share your work/innovations and solicit connections for future partnerships? Do you want to connect with others to network surrounding around a specific research area / big idea / classroom experience / new opportunity? Immerse & Inspire What innovative technologies exist to transform the learning? How are you using these technologies to inspire students in the classroom? What research has been done to inspire others to adopt these practices?    Appreciate & Anticipate What big idea came to fruition institutionally? How have you made a large vision a reality on your campus?  What technology is at the forefront of adoption in higher education? How are you creating capacity to support innovation?   What is on the cusp for the future of learning at Penn State? Or you can allow us to align your proposal to a focus area. Session Types & Formats Session types and formats have been adjusted to accommodate the virtual format.
